New Search Visibility Features!
At SourceForge we know that if you succeed, we succeed. That's why we have rolled out two simple and features to help your project to gain more traction. We added a 'summary' field (70 chars long) that is aimed at improving projects SEO and internal search conversion rate. We also extended the project's description field length to 1000 chars, so that you can add even more details about your project.
We just started to publish contributions from practitioners, professionals and free software advocates who have expertise in how to use open source packages hosted at SourceForge to solve customers'
problems. We will be working to included more relevant posts from the community exploring collections of tools for a specific users' category and even head to head product comparisons.
BonitaSoft is excited to announce it is making Bonita Open Solution 5.6, generally available today, available on SourceForge. The leading open source Business Process Management (BPM) and Workflow Engine suite has been downloaded more than 1 million times and has a community of 10,000 members.
For many months, new projects can register on our Beta platform which offers a great set of rewritten tools with integrated cross-referencing, search, and more. But what about thousands of projects that registered before that? We're working hard on a migration path to the new system. We think the new set of tools are pretty awesome, and want all projects to be able to switch over. We've recently added support for migrating forums, so many parts of a project can be migrated but not all yet. Look in your project settings page soon for instructions about opting in for migration.
One of the upcoming changes we had already teased you with in our last update was the redesign of our project summary page. In fact, we've been back to the drawing board refining certain parts our revision of that page even further to incorporate feedback we received from users during a field test. Our two primary goals (besides improved looks, but, you know, it's the inner values that count) redesigning that page were clearer communication of a project's key features (with an emphasis on screenshots) *and* making it even more obvious than before how to download a project. We hope you like the changes as we roll out the page to all users over the course of this week and, as always, welcome your feedback via the usual channels.
